Braxton County Schools is accepting proposals for local ground beef from April 17-May 5, 2023. The RFP must be time stamped via email by 4pm May 5, 2023. The RFP is for the 2023-2024 school year only. The request is for 9 deliveries of 800 pounds of ground chuck. Preference will be given to vendors within a 100-mile radius of Braxton County Schools’ central storage. Proposals must be written and include the following details to be accepted as a valid proposal:

1. Vendor must have a license to operate as a Meat and/or Poultry Distributor for the West Virginia Department of Agriculture (15 points of 100 possible)

2. Beef must be ground chuck (80/20) (15 points of 100 possible)

3. Delivery to our central storage on monthly dates established by customer. The projected dates will be the first Thursday of September, October, November, December, January, February, March, April, and May unless it is a holiday. (15 points of 100 possible)

4. Beef must be packages in 10lb packages four packages to a case. This is essential for ordering and delivery to schools. (15 points of 100 possible)

5. Cost (40 points of 100 possible)

The first delivery of beef must occur on or before the first Thursday in September or the bid will be awarded to the next vendor.

Proposal Format: The proposal must be either a word document or a PDF and sent as an email attachment. Each of the five criteria above must be specifically addressed in the proposal. A copy of the vendor’s license must be submitted for criteria 1. RFP will be awarded between May 8th and May 12th, 2023, via email notification.
