Calling ALL Families, Educators and Community Members that are Interested in the Education of Exceptional Children
Join the West Virginia Advisory Council for the Education of Exceptional Children (WVACEC) on Thursday April 27, 2023, from 6:00-8:00 pm and Friday April 28, 2023 9:00-12:00 at the Braxton County Board of Education, 98 Carter Braxton Dr, Sutton, WV.
We are meeting on both dates to talk about what’s happening in special education at the state and county level and the schools in your neighborhood.
Come out and hear from the West Virginia Department of Education (WVDE) about the special education programs and specific projects and initiatives going on for special education students. Local administrators of special education have been invited to share updates, accomplishments, and challenges.
The public is welcome and encouraged to attend to share news and concerns about what is happening locally regarding the education of exceptional children.
Exceptional children include students with disabilities and gifted students as defined by the IDEA and Policy 2419.
The Council’s responsibilities include holding public meetings around the state, hearing from families, educators, and community members and making an annual report to the State Board of Education and others regarding the needs of exceptional children.
Please come out and let us know how things are going in your local schoolhouses.
