Braxton County Schools is accepting proposals for reading professional development plans. Plans will be for the remainder of the 24-25 SY and for the 25-26 SY. The proposals should align with the West Virginia Content Standards and Objectives for Reading. Proposers may submit a plan for the six elementary schools and a separate plan for the secondary schools (one middle school and one comprehensive high school) or a single plan for all schools. All plans will be scored and the best plan or combination of two plans will be selected for Braxton County Schools. A template is provided that must be completed regardless of the type of plan that is submitted for price comparison. For the 24-25 SY, the proposal will go through June 30, 2025. A second proposal for 25-26 SY will start July 1 and end August 30, 2026. The RFP is specifically to support improved teacher professional practice in reading and increase student achievement in reading as aligned with the Orton Gillingham approach to teaching reading. All proposals must have an email time sent stamp of 3:30 EST to be valid, if hand delivered, they must be time stamped by the front secretary by 3:30 on January 24, 2025.
