Braxton County Schools – Information for Hope Scholarship and Homeschool Families
🏈 Athletics
Students participating under the Hope Scholarship and homeschooled students who choose to participate in Braxton County Schools athletics will be required to pay the applicable participation fee.
🎓 Classes
Homeschool students who wish to enroll in classes must complete their enrollment by September 30, 2026. Homeschool students enrolled by this deadline will not be charged a fee for classes, as they will be included in the district's October enrollment count. Hope Scholarship students will be charged a fee for coursework.

FY 27 Cost of Participation in Curricular and Extracurricular Programs by Homeschool and Hope Scholarship Students
For the 2026-2027 school year, Braxton County Schools will invoice Hope Scholarship and homeschool students at the following rates:
Hope Scholarship Fees for Curricular Programs
For general coursework: $679.46 per class period
For CTE Coursework: $679.46 per class period (Students are responsible for the costs of any uniforms, supplies, equipment, student club fees, or other items necessary to participate in the course).
Hope Scholarship Fees for Extracurricular Programs:
Football: 1/8 of Hope Scholarship.
Band: 1/8 of Hope Scholarship. (Student is responsible for purchasing their own instrument)
Other Sports: 1/16 of Hope Scholarship
Homeschool Fees for Extracurricular Programs:
Football: $679.46
Band: $679.46 (Student is responsible for purchasing their own instrument)
Other Sports: $339.73
