You are invited to experience our Living Wax Museum presented by the fourth and fifth grade students at Flatwoods Elementary School. Students will present their hard work and research as their historical characters from a variety of generations. We welcome our parents, guardians, and members of the community to visit this wonderful event and let the students tell you about some historical figures. The students and their exhibits will be open to all Flatwoods friends and families starting at 9:45 am, we are planning on having the exhibits open for approximately one hour. All visitors must sign in and out at the door, may be limited to the number of people inside at one time

Good Evening Falcon Family,
Tomorrow, Thursday October 27th we will be having our annual Halloween parade and classroom parties. We will be starting our parade from the school and going down the street towards the post office. At the conclusion of our parade, we will re-enter the school and the students will have an opportunity to trick-or-treat with some community agencies and organizations. Visitors may not enter the building until the students are back at the school. All visitors to the school must sign in at the front entrance. Costume mask and weapons are not permitted by anyone. It also appears that some classrooms will be overcrowded and we may have to limit the number of people in there at a time. We will be asking that visitor depart from the school by 2:30. Thank you for your continued support of our students.

This morning in a response to a potential threat received from a neighboring school district, Braxton High County School took precautions and put students into lockdown, the West Virginia State Police responded and detained the potential threat. As a result of the State Police investigation, it was found to be a domestic situation and there was not a direct threat to students at Braxton County Schools. Lockdowns such as these are activated to keep all students and staff safe.
