Braxton County Schools will be dismissing one hour and fifteen minutes early today. The middle and high schools will be dismissing at 2:15 pm today, and the elementary school dismissal time adjusted thereby. We would ask that parents please make arrangements to have someone available to meet young children at the drop off locations. Again, today, Friday, May 6, schools will be dismissed early, starting with the middle and high schools dismissing at 2:15 pm. Elementary schools will dismiss one hour and fifteen minutes earlier than normal. Thank you for your cooperation.

Davis Elementary School collaborates with Melinda Francis from the West Virginia Department of Education, Office of Child Nutrition for a microgreens taste testing. Students had an opportunity to taste test radish and sunflower microgreens. Gassaway Mayor Richard Roach visited the school and participated in the microgreens taste testing. Also featured in the photos with Gassaway Mayor Mr. Roach is Davis Elementary Principal Mrs. Minney and featured in the photo with Melinda Francis is Davis Elementary Health and PE teacher, Michele Winemiller.
The Braxton County School Board voted this evening that the wearing of masks is optional unless a student or staff member has a positive case of COVID. If positive, after quarantining for days one through five, if fever free and improving symptoms, a mask must be worn for days six through ten. If you have a question, please call your child's school and refer to "COVID-19 info" on the WVDE website (https://wvde.us). Thank you for working with us during the pandemic to ensure the safety and needs of all our students and staff.
