The Braxton County School Board voted this evening that the wearing of masks is optional unless a student or staff member has a positive case of COVID. If positive, after quarantining for days one through five, if fever free and improving symptoms, a mask must be worn for days six through ten. Braxton County Schools is proud to announce that our Local Wellness Committee will be meeting virtually this year. Local School Wellness began when the Child Nutrition and WIC Reauthorization Act of 2004 required all districts to establish local school wellness policies by School Year 2006‐2007 with a goal of promoting student health, preventing childhood obesity, and combating problems associated with poor nutrition and physical inactivity. BCS is looking for community members at large that would like to participate in our Local Wellness Committee. If you are interested please contact Kelly Wilmoth the Executive Secretary of Technology and Child Nutrition at 304-765-7101 extension 728. The virtual meeting dates for this year are 2.28.2022, 3.21.2022 and 4.25.2022.
