The Braxton County Rotary Club is sponsoring a Teacher Recognition Program to recognize excellence in teaching. One elementary and one secondary teacher will be selected and awarded a cash prize of $250 each semester. Anyone can nominate teachers for this award. Click on the link for more information.

Communities In Schools, in partnership with the Braxton County Schools Child Nutrition Program, held its annual Heart & Harvest Thanksgiving food giveaway on Thursday, November 20th at BCHS. This event provided meals for over 80 families. We would like to thank the BCHS cooks, Mountaineer Food Bank, GoMart, and Walmart for their help and donations.

District Literature Fair - Results!
Braxton County students participated in the District Literature Fair at the GSU Waco Center on Saturday, October 25th. We are so proud of the 35 students who competed with 25 projects. Our talented students brought home an impressive number of awards, including 10 first-place winners, 5 second-place winners, 2 third-place winners, and 8 participation ribbons! Communities In Schools (CIS) Site Coordinators presented an overview of their program to the Braxton County Rotary Club on Wednesday. They highlighted the organizational goals and explained the three tiers of student support, as well as the many resources offered through supply closets, community outreach, and family engagement activities. Data management was discussed that helps track school and student progress and success. The Rotary Club has been a long-standing and valued partner, providing vital support to CIS initiatives that empower student and their families to succeed. The program will be highlighted in the CIS State Newsletter.
